Do you agree that time goes way too fast?
And that it would be great to fly back into the past?
Well, in the past is difficult, but you can definitely fly back in time.
As a matter of fact it’s ridiculously easy - mas o menos like this rhyme.
By flying from New Zealand to Chile, we won 16 hours of time.
We arrived before we left. It seems like a logical crime.
We didn’t know what to expect when we first set foot on the ground.
But Marlies had made friends that wanted to take us around.
South America is poor, that´s all we knew.
But we got a wealthy point of view.
Marvellous Matías picked us up and brought us to his door.
We couldn’t spend the night though, because he had burned the floor.
We wanted to leave the bags in the car, ´cause we were lazy.
Matías yelled: “This is South America! Are you crazy?”
While I took a jetlag nap, Matías and Marlies pondered upon South American land.
And it quickly turned out that they had loads of things planned.
We were welcome to stay at Dazzling Dani´s place.
The maid, the mother and herself, they spoiled us with a smiling face.
They served us piles of delicious food and dessert.
Once again we felt like queens in a never ending flirt.
´I called all my friends whose English is quite alright.
Then we’ll drink pisco and go out all night.´
Whether it was the sexfairy’s stories or the pisco and the lime,
Or the dancing in couples...we had a brilliant time.
While our loco friends went to work or study law,
We visited Santiago. It was smoggy and we felt raw.
At the Plaza de Armas we lost each other out of sight.
That was the first time that had happened and gave us quite a fright.
Is she lost or robbed or abducted by the Crow?
After all, this is South America: you might never know.
It was only for 20 minutes and we were both okay.
Now we have a whistle. In case it would happen another day.
There are some gorgeous buildings and the streets, they are quite clean.
But the difference between poor and rich is the biggest we have ever seen.
I guess we didn’t expect to see areas so big and wealthy,
While others were sleeping on the street, looking rather unhealthy.
That explains the continent’s rate of crime.
If we were poor here, we too would be stealing all the time.
The second night they took us to a cool and arty spot,
where narrators and musicians and the atmosphere were hot.
We decided to relax and take it easy and nice.
So we restricted us to some pisco sour with some ice.
Matías actually had to study for an exam he had next day.
But he said: “I’ll study later´ and he came out to play.
After another day of sightseeing the end of the Chile trip drew near.
So they organised a liquid BBQ of Pisco and beer.
It was another great evening, but who we mainly remember is the Crow.
A guy so weird and creepy, one that sticked and wouldn´t go.
We then said goodbye to our brilliant friends.
And that is where our Chilean story ends.
Muchas gracias a Dani y Matias y todos sus amigos y amigas! Siempre bienvenidos a Amberes, Belgica!
Muchos besos!!
